Why should students choose your subject ?  What career opportunities are open for students to follow ?

 

This is an interesting and relevant subject, which is well regarded by both the more established and newer universities.  It combines well with any humanities subject, but also works well as a fourth subject for scientists.

 

Government and Politics opens up careers in the police, journalism, public relations and local government.

 

Describe a typical A Level course in your subject

 

At AS Level we look at British politics with one paper on participation and one paper on government itself.

 

The A2 Level course covers USA politics with papers on participation and government.

 

What are the GCSE requirements needed to study your subject ?

 

Ideally English at grade BB is preferred, but some students succeed with CC.

 

If History was taken at GCSE, then at least a grade C is required and/or ideally a B or better in a subject like Economics or Geography.
